And so it begins...

"IT'S YOUR WORLD...CHANGE IT!"

That is the first thing I see whenever I enter the VSC or should I say my haven at CSUF.

I still remember the first time I ever stepped inside the VSC. It was my first day at CSUF and I was wondering (cuz that's what I do best) around campus and some how I ended up in there...as soon as I opened the door I was welcomed by a women whos' name is Amy (she's the head coordinator)...She greeted me with a hello and a warm and sincere smile. Today I consider Amy as one of my great mentors, she has helped & still continues to help me grow as an individual...Anyways, she asked me if there's anything she could do for me and I responded "I don't know, honestly. I'm lost." And she was like "ok. Well why don't you start by telling me a little about yourself." So we talked and at the end I ended up signing up for almost every volunteer opportunity that they offered hahaha :D (This is one of my fav. memories)

I have been part of the vsc for over a yr. now and it is one of the few places where I can find peace and understanding. Everytime I'm there, it's like im in another world. I forget about my problems and just focus on helping others in need as well as saving the planet.

I'm excited for the new year..I cant wait to start getting involved again. Spring always brings a new sense of ecitement for me. It's the sense of a new beginning...This semester im going to be a project director for Project Earth (my fav. project)im also going to be part of the social justice summit, again along w/ other events and my classes are verying interesting. :D ( I guess this is me being optimistic)

Let's just say im tired of all the bullshit and I want to leave all the negative energy behind and take each thing one step at a time..

So I guess let's get the party started!!...*sigh

Twilight Saga

People need to STOP HATING...

Its not a good book in the sense of being a classic like 1984, but its well written enough not to get completely blasted by critics and it sells well. (Like Harry Potter, but I actually really like Harry Potter.) It appeals to a certain demographic.

It's obvious that people aren't going to stop hating it because they don't fall into the group of people who really like sexy vampires or werewolfs. That's it. Nothing else.

Best scene in the movie (by the way the movie could have been way better, oh well)

Sleepless Nights

Ugh.

So, for the last three nights, I couldn’t sleep until around 2:30 in the morning even though my eyes felt tired and heavy and when I did, I would get these horrible nightmares…Know why?

....Because I was wondering…

Wondering about many things at the same time…

Things like people, my past & future, happiness, school, health, love vs. obsessions, trust, real friends vs. fake ones, etc…

So, I put my playlist on shuffle and this song starts playing…

Believe by Grits
What do you believe?

Everybody needs something to see
Something to feel
And something to be
Everybody needs something as proof
Something in hand
To know the truth

Livin lavish like the biltmore
What the blood spilt for
A ship in harbor is safe
But that ain't what it's built for
Do all I can to help you get more
If you forgive my slight intrusion
I see this night is confusin
A constant fight with illusions
Shed a light on conclusions
What you desire is a way out
Day in and day out
Do not disturb signs so I'll stay out
How long will you let the torture grasp you
I see spirits manifestin
Blockin blessings with the questions
That you hear me ask you
Keep it up so much will pass you
You can make it on a prayer
Yeah that's true
But barely getting by when you can do more
Why would you want to
Forgettin that the wood's dry and the fire's on you
Life's a hassle
Be prepared to rassle
It can be rough
But it don't have to
You can make it full of smiles
Something to laugh to
So pick and chose my message thick
So squeeze and watch it ooze
Make it a game to where your fears lose
Let's go

Everybody needs something to see
Something to feel
And something to be
Everybody needs something as proof
Something in hand
To know the truth

There's a way that seems right
In the heart of a man
And many angels of light
In disguise destroying man
So most chose to refuse
The absolute truth
Replace it with lies
Use ignorance as excuse
It's hard to conceive
What the mind can't comprehend
And harder to believe
What the eyes can't understand
We look to theory, philosophies and thought
For a sure foundation
In a belief we once sought
While the shadow of truth
Cast an image so clear
The closer it gets
We reject it out of fear
If we really wanted truth
We would give our lives for it
Walk in its direction of light
For God's glory
The saga continues
Cause most hearts are deceived
If we really wanted truth
We would live and believe
So the saga continues
Cause most hearts are deceived
If we really wanted truth
We would live and believe in it

Everybody needs something to see
Something to feel
And something to be
Everybody needs something as proof
Something in hand
To know the truth

...And it just simply made me smile :D

Chicken Joe

I LOVE HIM!

Chicken Joe is the air-headed, calm and collected, strangely talented best friend of the main character in Surf’s Up. He is the quintessential “surfer-dude,” riding the waves because he loves it, and not for fame or fortune. Some of his exploits during the movie include sticking his head over the blow-hole of a whale in order to get brain freeze, buying a coconut hat with matching ensemble, diving into the jungle to search for Cody, making friends with the local natives, and even learning a new language.

I think I’d like to be like Chicken Joe someday, except being an air-head of course. But, just watching life float, like life SHOULD float, instead of worrying about paddling every second that I’m out in the water.

Surf's Up (Quotes)

Lani Aliikai: Oh, crap!
[runs out to save drowning penguin]
Cody Maverick: Oh man, I'm in love.
Chicken Joe: You should go talk to her.
Cody Maverick: No way, man!
Chicken Joe: Dude, she's totally into you! She called you crap!

Chicken Joe: Cody's around here somewhere, I can feel it in my nuggets!

Chicken Joe: You know, we've known each other way back since, like... yesterday, I think it was.

Chicken Joe: Whoah! You gotta try this blowhole thing, man! This whale dude is giving me a brain freeze.

Chicken Joe: I can help, though. Except if there's blood. Just the thought of blood makes me... makes me...
[faints]

Rob: How's it feel to win, Joe?
Chicken Joe: I won?

Cody Maverick:
My name's Cody Maverick, Shiverpool. You?
Chicken Joe: No, I'm not from Shiverpool.

Chicken Joe: I'm Chicken Joe. Joseph. It's long for Joe.

Chicken Joe: Squidito on el stickito?

Chicken Joe: Butt freeze!

Books vs Humans

How are books different from people?...

A book is a set or collection of written, printed, illustrated, or blank sheets, made of paper, parchment, or other material, usually fastened together to hinge at one side. A single sheet within a book is called a leaf, and each side of a leaf is called a page.

How are we the same?

Books have the same enemies as people:fire, humidity, animals, weather, and their own content.

Where am i getting at with all this?...I have NO Idea! =)

Positive Conditioning

Ever remember watching a friend hit a piƱata or maybe pin the tail on the donkey? What did you say? Were you the one that shouted, “NO, NOT THERE!!!”? Or did you say “OVER HERE! CLOSER!!” instead?

if I were to shout “NOT THAT WAY!”, the person would end up being too scared to move. So it’s always better to say “OVER HERE!!!” instead, in hopes that the person would find their way.

People tend to forget that positive conditioning can bring about much better results than negative conditioning - that rewarding a child for his or her achievements bring far more results than hitting a child for his or her failures. Similarly, saying your ‘please’, ‘thank yous’ or even just a simple smile can go a farther distance than mindless indifference can ever hope to go.

That is why I love the TWLC…they believe in every member there. They open their doors to every individual who wants to become something more than what they already are.

I honestly believe I have the best job at the age of 19 :D

But know this, It’s the little wonders of life that people tend to forget because they are too preoccupied to open their hearts. So, remember to be an “over here!” person, when you can.

I guess sometimes it takes a little fantasy to change our reality.

The Spurs are so yesterday's news

Honestly can you call yesterday's game a "fair game"?...I think NOT!

It was upsetting to see my Lakers lose to those roaches, I gotta admit. With the Lakers' injuries, and coming off that tough game the night before, that game turned into a circus.Honestly I dont believe that Manu would have exploded the way he did if Sasha "THE MACHINE" was on the court. And Parker would have really fought for his game if Farmar was there, Farmar would be running circles on him. Anyways wait till the roaches come to LA...when the Lakers have all their players, when they play in a real stadium with real fans, than you will see a real basketball game..a fair game...Just Wait...The roaches can have this game..that's all they're going to get this yr.;D no biggie. LA will have their parade this yr. watch. Purple and Gold will rise again.

Oh and for the record imma take it out on Bianca for that UNFAIR game. bahahahahaha
